Morning Trip (63)

“You could write a song about some kind of emotional problem you are having, but it would not be a good song, in my eyes, until it went through a period of sensitivity to a moment of clarity. Without that moment of clarity to contribute to the song, it’s just complaining.”
Joni Mitchell

I’m just not there yet, it’s a work in progress, sometimes it feels stickier than others.

  1. That is such an interesting viewpoint offered by Ms. Mitchell. Clarity…that elusive ah-ha! moment. Even though it may just be complaining before clarity, wouldn’t a lot of art remain uncreated if we awaited its arrival? I think I never would have said anything. LOL!

very nicely went along with my latest creativity output strike
I could try to work in some balance in my thinking about some things and not expressing in alllll other ways at the same time! (or not, lord it can seem a pain to modulate myself and reactions instead of just cleaning up after)

  2. Thinking about a different sort of clarity this time through reading and experiencing. Laughing at the lack of wisdom in thinking clarity, for itself, as a finish line is RIDICULOUS! Things are never fixed. They won’t be. Life is a work in progress, so is dying. I don’t think that there ever is a ‘there’ point. I think that I used to mistake moments of clarity for grounding. I suppose that I might get a bit too fixed upon one or the other. I am not sure that in this instance that there must be a choice for giving one up in order to experience the other.
