If you hold all of the world in a paper cup…

July 27, 2011July 20, 2011 / Elisa / 4 Comments

If you hold all of the world in a paper cup, everything of value to you and you hold it in your hand…what if it leaks?

“An avidity to punish is always dangerous to liberty. It leads men to stretch, to misinterpret, and to misapply even the best of laws. He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach himself.”

~Thomas Paine, 1795

“At such moments, courage is necessary,” Mr. Obama said. “We need courage to stand up to hate, not just in others, but in ourselves. At such moments, we need the courage to stand up to dogma, not just in others, but in ourselves.”
–Barack Obama

“Stop abortion at the source. Vasectomies are reversible. Make every young man have one. When he’s deemed financially and emotionally fit to be a father it will be reversed. What’s that? Did the idea of regulating a man’s body make you uncomfortable? Then mind your f**king business.”

Refresh yourself, sister
With the water from the copper bowl with bits of ice in it –
Open your eyes under water, wash them –
Dry yourself with a rough towel and cast
A glance at a book you love.
In this way begin
A lovely and useful day.
–Bertolt Brecht

“A poem, a sentence causes us to see ourselves.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Magic is the use of spiritual skills to achieve specific goals, according to individual will.”
