“Resentment and anger are emotions that cause your suffering, keeping them alive inside you, draining you of your life force and inner light. Nothing good comes from anger, hate, or resentment. Peace can only come through forgiveness, when you release all that binds you to negativity. Perhaps you need to forgive yourself for placing unrealistic expectations on your situation resulting in a self-sabotaging perception tainted by perfectionism.”
(Look within) “…and see how the lack of forgiveness feeds the” (perception of) “turmoil and suffering around you. Forgiveness is the key to freedom and peace…and it starts with you.”
“There’s nothing wrong with the world. What’s wrong is our way of looking at it.”
“Sensations, from the beginning, involve a sort of doing. This means that, in an important sense, it is your doing self that brings your core self into being. You are responsible at the very deepest level for what it feels like to be you. But then, for your next trick, well, how about spreading some of that soul dust onto the things around you? Remember, too, that it is your mind that projects phenomenal qualities onto external objects. If you only knew it, you yourself are responsible for the feel of the world.”
–Nicholas Humphrey, Soul Dust: The Magic of Consciousness
“Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world.”
“Passion is a beautiful thing. It is the motivator by which we can realize our dreams. But the fear of failure can create such a strong vision that it will paralyze our intent and extinguish the flame that fuels the passion. Simply put fear can keep us from living the life of our dreams.
One way to overcome this fear is to question it by asking yourself things such as:
What am I afraid of?
Where does the fear come from?
Am I willing to let fear keep me from pursuing my passion?
Focusing on all the steps it make take to achieve your final goal can have the effect of fanning the flames of fear. Instead, just take one small step forward in the direction of your passion. With this step, you become aware of the strength of your intent, and the fear begins to fade away…”
–Don Miguel Ruiz, Jr., Living A Life of Awareness
“Life is a progress, and not a station.”
–Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Poverty is not the absence of goods, but rather the overabundance of desire.”
enclosed in your fist
i was safe
i feel abused
and then you sigh
and you carefully open a space between two fingers
and i peer out
and i see
that I am being
in the light
of the sun
there is no ground beneath me
there is no where to run
there is not yet
any safe space
to be put down
I forgot somehow to run and to play around and around, up and then down laughing at you watching me as the flame rises and I float off in union. Maybe I can remember how. Please forgive me. I cannot forgive myself. At least…not yet.
