Morning Trip (225)

“I certainly wasn’t happy. Happiness has to do with reason, and only reason earns it. What I was given was the thing you can’t earn, and can’t keep, and often don’t even recognize at the time; I mean joy.”
–Ursula K. Le Guin

  1. OK, another fascinating quote. (I don’t always click on the videos, but do enjoy reading the quotes.) Yes, there does seem to be a qualitative difference between happiness and joy. Happiness does feel earned…joy is more like grace. I also think that joy is at the very center of who we are before we add on our story of who we think we are.
