Morning Trip (204)

“Sometimes I think the people to feel the saddest for are people who once knew what profoundness was, but who lost or became numb to the sensation of wonder – people who closed the door that leads us into the secret world – or who had the doors closed for them by time and neglect and decisions made in times of weakness.”
–Douglas Coupland

  1. Good one. Coupland’s statement is poignant to me ’cause I sometimes wonder if I’ve waited too long, gotten too old, or fried my brain too much on toxins to ever gain much clarity from this point. That’s a fear, but so far I don’t accept it. Otherwise I wouldn’t be going to the gym later. Ha!
