It is part of the Druid way of celebrating Alban Arthan, which translates to the Solstice. There is a fight between the Holly King–the wren, and the Oak King, the robin. The Holly King dies, The Oak King wins, the light returns!
It was a rather sneaky and creative way to show the dark receding, the dried dead sparkly frosted things of winter, lighting up and shoving out the dark to the right side of the image.
Is there a wren and a robin hidden in here, like those hidden puzzles? I even clicked to enlarge to see but couldn’t…
