An Elder with an Empty Mind

“Of all the pitfalls in our paths and the tremendous delays and wanderings off the track I want to say that they are not what they seem to be. I want to say that all that seems like fantastic mistakes are not mistakes, all that seems like error is not error; and it all has to be done. That which seems like a false step is the next step.”

  1. The quote is so comforting. To think that our mistakes and mis-steps are simply the next right step. I like this elder with an empty mind. When I grow up, I want to have an empty mind, too.

  2. I am not sure that I can agree with the “right” thing, but yes the next step along the way to get to the ‘right’ thing maybe. right and wrong and path and step all carry so many understandings without like pages.
